Born in 1946 in Lithonia, Georgia, James had humble beginnings. He started working at the family grocery store at just 11 years old, learning the value of hard work and life’s everyday humor. Over the years, he pursued various career paths, including working as a postman and briefly serving in the US Marines.
However, it was at the age of 36 that James discovered his true calling – comedy. He took the bold step of signing up for a stand-up show in Atlanta, Georgia. Little did he know that this decision would change his life forever. With unparalleled wit and charm, James quickly ascended the ranks, becoming one of the most sought-after comedians in the southeast of the United States.
Throughout his remarkable 41-year career, James brought laughter to people from all walks of life. He performed for US troops on aircraft carriers and in military hospitals, leaving a lasting impact on those who served our country.
