The Brigitte Bardot Foundation, an organization dedicated to animal welfare, confirmed on August 20th that Loubo would not be euthanized. They assured the public that Delon’s relatives will take care of the 10-year-old canine, ensuring he is safe and loved.
“Many of you have sent us messages regarding the future of Loubo, Alain Delon’s dog,” the foundation wrote in a statement. “His family confirmed that Loubo has his home and his family, and he will not be euthanized.”
Delon’s request to have Loubo put to sleep in his arms and buried alongside him was originally expressed during a 2018 interview with Paris Match. He described Loubo as his “end of life dog” and spoke of their special relationship. However, the family’s decision to honor Loubo’s life by allowing him to live out his remaining years in a familiar environment has sparked hope and appreciation from animal lovers worldwide.
