The boss had an urgent matter with one of the main office computers. But there was a problem – his valued employee was nowhere to be found. No sign of him at work and no call to say he was sick. Determined to solve the issue, the boss decided to call the employee at home.
To his surprise, a child picked up the phone and spoke in a hushed tone. The boss asked if the employee was home, and the child whispered “yes.” Curiosity got the best of him, so the boss asked if he could speak with the employee. But once again, the child whispered a firm “no.”
Not one to give up easily, the boss wondered if the child’s mother was home. And again, the answer came in a whisper – “yes.” Hoping there was someone he could leave a message with, the boss asked if there was anyone else present. This time, the child whispered that there was a policeman.
Confused as to why a policeman would be at his employee’s home, the boss asked to speak with the officer. But the child whispered that the policeman was busy. Intrigued, the boss inquired about the officer’s activities, and the child responded that he was talking to the employee’s parents and a fireman.
Feeling a sense of worry, the boss heard a loud noise in the background through the phone. He asked the child what the noise was, and the child whispered back that it was a helicopter. Concerned, the boss demanded to know what was happening, and the child replied with yet another whisper – a search team had just landed a helicopter.
Now, truly apprehensive, the boss asked what they were searching for. And with a muffled giggle, the child whispered, “Me.”
