A Startling Encounter with Frightening Fauna
During her visit to Jeffries Creek Park, Langley came face-to-face with a giant brown snake. The serpent was several feet long and as thick as a tree root. Langley was taken aback by the creature, commenting on Facebook, “Note how well he blends in with his surroundings.” Langley used this experience as a teaching opportunity, reminding her children and fellow hikers to stay close and be aware of their surroundings.
The Astonishing Size of the Creature

Foley reassures people that while the size may be imposing, it is not unusual for these snakes to reach such dimensions over several years.
