A Surprising Discovery on the Streets!

A man was walking home from work and discovered a small animal on the pavement!

On his way home from work, a kindhearted Thai man stumbled upon a small creature on the pavement. To his surprise, it was an adorable little cat, meowing away with all its might. Unable to ignore its vulnerability and loneliness, the man couldn’t help but take the cat home with him, determined to provide the care and love it deserved.

This helpless creature couldn’t survive on its own in the busy streets.

After bringing the tiny kitten home, the man made sure to feed it with milk from a bottle and showered it with the utmost care. It didn’t take long for the little cat to adjust to its new environment and bond with its new owner.

But as time went on, the man began to realize that this cat was unlike any he had seen before. Through further investigation and consultation with a veterinarian, a shocking discovery was made – the cat actually belonged to a unique and fascinating animal species!

It turned out, the animal was a fishing cat!

The fishing cat boasts a sleek gray coat with a beautifully uniform pattern all over its body. Its back is adorned with a rich brown color, sprinkled with small black or dark brown patterns in various sizes.

When fully grown, a fishing cat can have a tail length of 25 to 33 cm, a body length of 75 to 86 cm, and weighs between 8 to 14 kg. With its long and slender legs, partially webbed toes, and sharp claws that can’t fully retract, this feline is designed for an extraordinary aquatic lifestyle.

What exactly does a “fisherman cat” catch?

True to its name, the fishing cat is an expert at catching aquatic creatures. It delights in collecting fish, snakes, frogs, crabs, crustaceans, crayfish, snails, and water insects from its semi-aquatic habitats. And while there are rumors about the fishing cat preying on lambs, calves, mice, birds, and reptiles, its primary diet consists of the bounty found in the waters it calls home.
