Tom Brady Regrets Impact of Netflix Roast on His Kids

Tom Brady, the former NFL quarterback, has opened up about his regrets regarding the jokes made during his Netflix roast and their impact on his children. While Brady found some of the jokes about himself funny, he admitted that they affected his kids. Brady has three children, a son and daughter with his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and a son with Bridget Moynahan.

During The Roast of Tom Brady, comedians and former teammates directed their most visceral humor at him. While a roast is typically seen as a mark of respect or affection, some of the jokes targeted Brady’s marriage and divorce to Bündchen. Brady didn’t specify which jokes upset his children but expressed his discomfort with them on The Pivot Podcast. He said, “I liked when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way they affected my kids.”

Despite the negative impact on his children, Brady sees the experience as an opportunity for personal growth. He said, “I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it. At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun. If we’re not laughing about things, we’re crying. We should have more fun…and celebrate other people’s success.”

Brady also emphasized that he generally enjoys people making fun of him and has a sense of humor about himself. However, he acknowledged that signing up for the roast made him realize that he may not always see the full picture. Regardless, he still values laughter and comedy as a way to bring joy to his life.

The Netflix roast may have been entertaining for many viewers, but for Brady, it was a lesson in balancing humor with the well-being of his children. As he reflects on the experience, he strives to be a better parent and encourages more laughter and celebration of others’ success.
