MLB Legend Steve Garvey Confronts Adam Schiff Over Russia Hoax

Steve Garvey, the Major League Baseball legend known for his remarkable career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres, is now taking on a new opponent: Adam Schiff. Garvey, who retired from baseball in 1987, decided to run as a Republican candidate in the 2024 United States Senate election in California. The seat became vacant after the death of Democrat Dianne Feinstein in 2023.

The appointment of Democrat Laphonza Butler, a gay black woman residing in Maryland at the time, as Feinstein’s replacement sparked controversy. Some questioned whether it was a diversity selection or not. Garvey, along with Schiff, is among the candidates seeking to fill the seat.

During a primary debate held on Monday night, tensions rose between Garvey and Schiff. Garvey, known for his clean-cut image, confronted Schiff about his role in promoting the false narrative of Russian collusion. Schiff, who has been censured for lying to the American people about President Trump and the fake Russia story, defended himself by claiming he was standing up to a corrupt president.

In a powerful moment, Garvey called out Schiff for the lies he spread to 300 million people, stating that those lies cannot be taken back. Despite being considered an underdog, Garvey is garnering support and currently polling at 18%. Schiff, however, remains in the lead with 25% of the vote.

The California open Senate primary will take place on March 5th. The top two candidates from the primary will then move on to face off in the November elections. If Garvey secures a spot, it will be an opportunity to have a Republican represent the state in the Senate and put an end to the continuous deception by Schiff.
