Once upon a time, a lady was strolling down the street on her way to work. As she passed by a pet store, her eyes landed on a parrot perched on a stand. Suddenly, the parrot spoke up, catching her attention.
“Hey lady, you are really ugly,” the parrot uttered.
Naturally, the lady was taken aback and fueled with anger. Determined not to let the parrot’s rude comment ruin her day, she stormed past the pet store and continued on her way to work.
But little did she know that the encounter with the parrot was not yet over. On her way back home, she found herself face-to-face with the same parrot once again. And what did it say? You guessed it!
“Hey lady, you are really ugly,” the parrot mockingly exclaimed.
Now, imagine the lady’s fury. She could not believe that the parrot had the audacity to insult her for a second time. The following day, as she passed by the pet store, the parrot yet again repeated its mean-spirited comment.
Unable to contain her rage any longer, the lady stormed into the store, ready to give them a piece of her mind. She threatened to sue the store and even went so far as to declare that she would end the bird’s life.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, the store manager quickly intervened. He sincerely apologized to the lady and promised that the parrot would never say such offensive words again.
On her way home that day, the lady walked past the pet store with caution, half-expecting the parrot to spew another insult. As she approached, she heard the parrot call out to her once more.
“Hey lady,” the parrot beckoned.
Curiosity got the best of her, and she paused, replying, “Yes?”
And then, the bird delivered its punchline, “You know…”
The lady couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The parrot had completely caught her off guard with its clever comeback. It was a lesson that appearances could be deceiving, even coming from a sassy parrot.
Sometimes, what seems like an insult may turn out to be a witty joke. Life is full of surprises, and this encounter with the parrot taught the lady an important lesson about not taking things too seriously.
