Bruce Willis and his family have had a difficult time lately. As you may have already heard, the famous actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a debilitating brain disease that has caused him to step back from the public eye, possibly for good. While there has been much talk about the family’s unwavering support for Bruce during his darkest moments, recent reports reveal a troubling picture of the star’s mental health.
Earlier this year, Bruce Willis’s family made the heartbreaking announcement that the beloved action star had been diagnosed with dementia. His daughter, Scout, penned a heartfelt letter expressing her feelings of being “a bit overwhelmed.” In March of last year, Willis received a formal diagnosis of aphasia, a condition that made it difficult for him to communicate with others on set. As if that wasn’t enough, in February of 2023, his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia became publicly known.
Since then, the past weeks and months have been a constant battle for the Willis family, and it seems they may now be facing yet another challenge. According to Radar Online, Bruce and Demi Moore’s daughter, Tallulah, had been grappling with anorexia after her fiancé Dillon Buss left her just three months after Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis. “Bruce could see her wasting away, and it only made his own problems worse,” shared a source. “Bruce was shattered when he saw Tallulah’s suffering,” the insider added. “It got to the point where the family thought it would be better if they weren’t around each other at all.”
Tallulah bravely opened up about her struggle, admitting that she sought help at a residential treatment center following her breakup with Dillon. It was there that she received a diagnosis of BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). Reflecting on her experience, Tallulah said, “I felt smart for the first time, but I also started to enjoy the appetite-suppressant side effect of the meds. I saw a way to banish the awkward adolescent in favor of a flighty little pixie. And like so many people with eating disorders, my sense of myself went haywire.”
She went on to explain, “There’s an unhealthy deliciousness at the beginning of losing weight rapidly. People are like, ‘Oh wow!’ And then quickly it turns to, ‘Are you okay?’ My friends and family were terrified, and I dismissed it.” By the spring of 2022, Tallulah had reached an alarming weight of about 84 lbs. Constantly feeling cold, she had to call mobile IV teams to her house and couldn’t even walk around her neighborhood for fear of not finding a place to rest and catch her breath.
Let’s hope that Tallulah receives the care and support she needs to recover soon. Dealing with her father’s health issues on top of her own struggles must be incredibly challenging for her. Please SHARE this article to send love and prayers to the Willis family!
