Tom Brady: Family First, No Second NFL Comeback

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady, winner of seven Super Bowl championships, recently addressed potential plans for a second comeback to the NFL. In his SiriusXM podcast, Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray, the topic of unretiring came up once again. YouTube star Mr. Beast jokingly suggested that Brady’s return would skyrocket ratings.

Brady’s response was swift and definitive. He firmly stated, “I am NOT coming out of retirement.” While acknowledging Mr. Beast’s clever idea, Brady emphasized that his decision primarily revolves around his family. Even co-host Jim Gray attempted to persuade him otherwise, but Brady stood his ground, humorously adding, “My parents and my kids would call. They would kill me. I wouldn’t be around by tonight.”

For some context, Brady initially retired from the NFL on February 1, 2022, after an illustrious 22-year career. However, that retirement lasted only 40 days before he unretired and returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season. Brady then retired “for good” in the 2023 offseason, on February 1, 2023.

“As I said, you’re only allowed one un-retirement. And I’ve used it up,” Brady responded when Jim Gray suggested a more original idea to boost ratings. “So at this point, I’m just looking forward to being in more of your videos because my kids don’t think I’m s—t,” Brady expressed to Mr. Beast.

Brady recognized Mr. Beast’s influence on the younger community and acknowledged that his own children—John ‘Jack’ Edward Thomas, Benjamin Rein, and Vivian Lake—were likely more inclined to listen to Mr. Beast than to their own father. “Jimmy’s the one that’s got their attention. So if he tells them to do something, he’s got a lot more influence than I do. So I’m actually trying to stay on their good side,” Brady added. This implies a potential collaboration between Brady and Mr. Beast in the future.

The Legendary Collaboration

Just imagine the incredible collaboration between Tom Brady, the current G.O.A.T. of YouTube, and one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. It would undoubtedly be legendary, and it wouldn’t even matter what they decide to do. People from all around the world would be eager to tune in.

If this collaboration piques your interest, you might be thrilled to know that the wheels are already in motion. During one of his recent podcasts, Mr. Beast extended an invitation to Tom Brady, inviting him to be a contestant on one of his YouTube videos. Mr. Beast even provided a preview of what this collaboration might look like.

“Yeah, come on down. It’d be fun to have you as a contestant. Imagine my viewers, they just click on a video, and it’s like a hundred people competing, and then suddenly it’s Tom Brady. They’d be like, what the heck? It’d be so funny,” Mr. Beast enthusiastically explained. Doesn’t that sound like something you would watch?

Tom Brady seemed quite open to the idea, but with one condition—they should choose a competition that highlights his strengths. He exclaimed, “I’ll do it. We just gotta make a competition that I’m somewhat decent at. You can’t bury me alive or something like that!” Retirement hasn’t quenched his competitive spirit, and he still strives to win at everything he does.
