Pat Sajak Opens Up About Emergency Surgery

“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak recently revealed that he underwent emergency surgery for a clogged intestine. In his first interview since the procedure, Sajak shared his fears and experiences with “Good Morning America”.

Sajak described the excruciating agony he felt one November day while out for a stroll with his daughter. Within hours, he found himself doubled over in pain and on the verge of surgery. Despite various medications to manage his discomfort, nothing seemed to work. However, the anguish was momentarily forgotten when his doctors administered a particular medication. Sajak explained, “All of a sudden, I wasn’t thinking about the discomfort. I suddenly experienced a face coming out of these wonderful hues.”

The host even believed he was at the brink of death during that moment. He recalled hearing his wife and daughter talking in the background, though they seemed miles away from him. Worried for his family, Sajak thought about the aftermath they would have to face. Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and his fears of dying turned out to be unfounded. Sajak humorously quipped, “It turns out I was only stoned.”

Sajak’s Recovery and Returning to “Wheel of Fortune”

Following the procedure, Sajak is now feeling fantastic and has returned to work on “Wheel of Fortune”. He expressed his excitement about being back in the studio and assured fans that there were no issues even after spinning the famous wheel. Sajak mentioned that he does not need to make any lifestyle changes since doctors found no underlying reasons for the intestinal blockage.

During Sajak’s recovery period, his co-host Vanna White filled in for him. In the interview, Sajak joked about his concern that White might replace him as the main host of the show. However, he reassured everyone that he still has his wits about him and plans to keep selling vowels for a long time.

Ryan Seacrest Announced as the New Host

Speculations ranged from Vanna White taking over to the possibility of an unknown or highly dedicated individual hosting the show. However, it has been officially revealed that Ryan Seacrest will be stepping into the role as the new host of “Wheel of Fortune”.
