Cake Ding Dong

This is something I made for my son’s 21st birthday, and it is delicious. I made the cake using two box mixes and sliced them up for layers. There was plenty of filling, and it is delicious; it is smooth and creamy!

I did add extra 1/2 cup powdered sugar on the last mix since I like it sweeter, but I didn’t have a recipe like this and I will use this filling all over the place because it can be used to make a variety of things. Thank you so much for sharing this:)

I had Ding Dong cake for the first time last Friday night at a local diner and it was out of this world delicious, so I wanted a recipe that was as close to it as possible. This recipe is wonderful. I baked it in two 9-inch round cake pans. I divided it into four layers and used the filler between three of them.

I had plenty left over and might have used more between the layers. The icing was delicious. The icing was wonderful with a little more than 3 cups of powdered sugar. I was EXTREMELY delighted with this recipe and will be sure to share it with my friends who devoured a slice of the cake and raved about it.
THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC RECIPE THAT IS SURE TO IMPRESS EVERYONE WHO TRYES IT!

In a mixing dish, combine the butter and cream cheese, then add the powdered sugar and cool whip.
