Custard apple cake

INGREDIENTS:300 g (2 3/8 cup) flour; 4 eggs; 220 g (1 cup) sugar; 120 ml (12 cup) milk; 50 ml (1/4 cup) vegetable oil; 12 teaspoon vanilla extract; 16 g baking powder; a pinch of salt; 1 cup (280 g) pastry cream; 2 apples.

METHOD: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Eggs and sugar should be pale and foamy.
Mix in the vanilla, salt, milk, and vegetable oil.
Separately, whisk together the flour and baking powder, then add it to the liquids a tablespoon at a time, kneading the dough with a hand mixer.
Add 1 apple, peeled and sliced, to the dough.
Fill a buttered 24 cm mold halfway with batter. Place half of the pastry cream on top, decorate with apple slices, then top with the remaining cream.
Bake for 50 minutes, then set aside to cool before serving.
