The Best DelMonico Potatoes Recipe

4 big russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

1 quart thick cream

1 quart whole milk

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/2 cup Gruyere cheese, grated

2 minced garlic cloves

2 tbsp unsweetened butter

1 teaspoon thyme dried
