Al Roker provides a Thanksgiving Day update while the other co-anchors of the Today show continue without him.

Al Roker provides a Thanksgiving Day update in which he shares images and videos from the hospital where he is receiving treatment.

After receiving treatment for blood clots that had been transferred from his legs into his lungs for several days, he is set to be discharged from the hospital.

“Okay, let me share my opinion about the Thanksgiving Day parade. It’s time to blow this taco stand as I get ready to leave the hospital! Woohoo!” In a video he released an hour earlier of himself wandering the hospital’s hallways, Roker made this claim.

“Yay Al!!!! This video is so awesome! Without YOU, the parade would not have been the same. “Yasss!! We are really thankful of you! And all the medical professionals who cared for our loved one, thank you!”  Jenna Bush Hager added.

Al later shared a second image of himself giving the thumbs up while sitting in front of the TV at home and watching his colleagues carry on the tradition without him.

“I arrived back just in time to catch a brief segment of the #macysthanksgivingdayparade. I miss hanging out with @hodakotb and @savannahguthrie.”

Al Roker has missed the parade for the first time in 27 years this year. He was also terribly missed.

Al Roker’s recent absences from the normal Today Show cast over the past two weeks were widely known, and now everyone knows why.

In a statement he posted on his personal Instagram page on Friday, Roker revealed a recent health scare that landed him in the hospital. Along with a picture of a floral bouquet, Roker provided some further details.

“Many of you have politely inquired as to where I’ve been,” said Roker. “Last week, a blood clot in my leg that had travelled to my lungs was what took me to the hospital.”

“After some medical whack-a-mole, I’m grateful to be getting top-notch medical attention and moving toward recovery. I appreciate your prayers and nice thoughts, and I look forward to seeing you soon. Have a good weekend, everyone.”

Roker remained quiet regarding his Today Show comeback date or whether he would play one of his most known faces in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Many of his Today Show coworkers left well wishes for him in the article’s comments section.

“Al Roker, please return to us… counting down the days,” Hoda Kotb said. I adore you, Al!” stated Jenna Bush Hager. “Please get home quickly. You are cherished and greatly missed!”

“I love you, Al, and I pray for your quick healing every day!” stated Dylan Dryer. “Love you brother,” Craig Melvin continued.

Savannah Guthrie added, “We don’t know of anyone stronger. We miss you and want to catch up with you soon.”

There was no additional information available regarding Roker’s condition or recovery as of Sunday, November 20.

Guthrie said on the show on Friday that “we’ve all talked to him and he’s in terrific spirits.”
