Delta Flight With 281 Passengers Makes Emergency Landing After Passenger Poops His Pants

Flying from one place to another is definitely convenient, but sometimes unexpected issues can arise, catching everyone off guard.

This scenario played out on a Delta flight recently, when the plane had to make an emergency landing due to a passenger experiencing a bout of diarrhea.

As noted on Twitter, the Airbus A330 departed from Boston, Massachusetts headed to Rome, Italy. However, about an hour into the journey, the flight diverted and landed in New York City. This was an unplanned stop caused by a medical situation.

All 281 passengers onboard were transferred to another aircraft at JFK airport.

A Delta spokesman explained that the emergency landing was due to a passenger experiencing medical issues, but the spokesperson did not provide further details. Other sources filled in some of the gaps.

A social media post stated, “A transatlantic Flight DL112 was en route from Boston to Rome on Saturday night, but two hours after takeoff, the Airbus A330 diverted back to New York City after an ‘onboard medical issue’ involving a passenger who had severe diarrhea all over their seat.”

Commenters on the incident showed some compassion, expressing sympathy for the unfortunate passenger and acknowledging how embarrassing it must have been.

Interestingly, a similar event occurred in September 2023 on a flight from Atlanta to Barcelona. That flight also had to make a U-turn and emergency landing after a passenger had an accident mid-air.
