This week, audiences got their first peek at the 2024 Married At First Sight UK contestants, set to premiere on E4 in September. Among the new faces are 28-year-old mechanic Kieran and 30-year-old dog-walker Kristina.

Excitement is in the air as the first couple of the season has been introduced. In the teaser, Kieran tries to lighten the mood with a prank, showing up with fake teeth, much to the bemusement of the bridal party and the horror of his bride, Kristina.
As she steps into the church, visibly taken aback, she is heard exclaiming, “These teeth. What the f**k?” while Kieran greets her enthusiastically, wondering if she’s alright.
Past Contestants Weigh In
Former MAFS Australia participant, Melinda Willis, has a word of caution for the new UK cast. Melinda, who was on the Australian version of the show earlier this year, spoke about the lingering effects the show had on her personal life and mental health.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Melinda shared, “MAFS continued for me all the way through airing and even past that. I just wanted to go back and have a good time.” She emphasized the importance of maintaining a connection with the outside world during filming.
Melinda warned that participating in the show can make you quite vulnerable and emotional. “And I feel like I was too in it, way too in it.”
Advice to the New Cast
For the new stars of the show, Melinda’s advice is clear: “Just detach a little, still see the outside world, don’t get so consumed in it, and enjoy the ride.” She reflected on her time on the show, saying she didn’t get to enjoy watching it back because she was too involved.
