Just a little over a day after their son-in-law’s passing, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent displayed resilience and attended a memorial service. The body of Thomas Kingston, husband of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor, was discovered around 6 p.m. on Sunday at a house in Gloucestershire.
This morning, Prince and Princess Michael joined the Greek Royal Family for a heartfelt Thanksgiving service honoring Greece’s late King Constantine. Among the attendees were Sheikh Anne-Marie, the former Queen of Greece, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Pavlos. This service held special significance as it took place at St. George’s Chapel, where Thomas and Lady Gabriella exchanged vows in 2019.
Unfortunately, King Charles and Prince William were unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, but their condolences were expressed through statements.
An inquest will be conducted to determine the cause of Thomas’ untimely death, but there is no suspicion of foul play or involvement of any other individuals. In a statement released by his wife and family, they shared their deep sadness and requested privacy during this grieving period. They described Thomas as a remarkable person who brought immense pride to everyone around him.
King Charles and Queen Camilla also offered their sympathies, acknowledging Thomas’ passing and extending their heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and the entire Kingston family.
It is worth noting that King Charles, who is a resilient 75-year-old fighting cancer, made an appearance at Windsor Castle earlier this morning but had to leave before the service. As a result, Prince Andrew took the lead in representing the Royal family.
Andrew was visibly delighted as he guided the way to the service, one of the rare occasions he has been publicly seen. The unexpected death of Thomas Kingston in Gloucestershire prompted a call to the ambulance services, who in turn contacted the police. While the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are not considered suspicious, a file will be prepared for the coroner.
