One of the geniuses behind gangster rap, Snoop Dogg, has ventured into music, movies, and even starred in major Hollywood films. Today, we reflect on the life and legacy of his brother, Bing Worthington, who recently passed away at the age of 44. Bing was a cornerstone in Snoop’s life, supporting him every step of the way.

Bing first met Mymy Jordan during their days at Long Beach High School, and eventually, the two were married. They had a son together, although they’ve chosen to keep his name and date of birth private.

In the early days of his music career, Bing started out as a roadie for Snoop’s shows and later took on the role of tour manager for the rap superstar.

Bing was also a musician in his own right. His group, Lifestyle, released music including the album ‘Liquid Cocaine’ in 2003, and featured a lead single on the soundtrack of the film ‘Van Wilder 2.’

In a 2016 interview with Vice, Bing shared how the release of his 2003 album made him realize his talent for the music business. He said, “When I released the album, I orchestrated all the tracks myself.”

“Both my boyfriend and I were talented rappers, but I found myself questioning my role. Why was I making music when I had a knack for the business side? Meeting new people and talking shop energized me. It was a transformative experience.”

Bing also co-wrote the song “Be Thankful” for Snoop’s rap group Tha Eastsidaz, calling it the most significant piece of music he had ever created.

He once mentioned that he enjoyed working behind the scenes more than being in the spotlight, which led him to give up his dream of becoming a rapper.

By 2016, Bing had relocated to Canada and united his studio and production company, Dogg Records, with Miguel Lopez’s hip-hop label, Urban Heat Legends.

Snoop Dogg and His Connection to Bing Worthington

Snoop and Bing were half-brothers, sharing the same mother, Beverly Tate. After Bing’s unfortunate passing, Snoop took to Instagram on February 16, 2024, posting two heartfelt updates to inform his followers about his brother’s death.

In an emotional first post, Snoop shared an old video clip of himself, Bing, their other brother Jerry, and their sister at a cemetery, reminiscing and sharing laughs. The caption read, “@badabing33 always made us laugh. You’re back with mom now,” along with a blue heart, a prayer, and a crying face emoji.

The second post featured a picture of Snoop and Bing together in a green room. Snoop added a dove and a prayer emoji to the caption.

As of now, the cause of Bing’s death remains unknown.

Snoop Dogg’s Siblings

Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has two half-siblings. The elder of the two, Jerry Wesley Carter, works for United Steel Workers. While Jerry occasionally appears on Snoop’s Instagram, their appearances together are rare.

Bing, Snoop’s younger half-brother, passed away at the age of 44. Snoop himself is currently 52 years old.
