Little Johnny’s math grade was so poor that it prompted a call from his teacher to his parents. Later that day, when Johnny arrived home, his father was waiting by the door, visibly disappointed.

“Why did you fail your math test?” his father asked in a serious tone.

Johnny simply shrugged and replied, “My teacher isn’t very good.”

Surprised by Johnny’s response, his father pressed him to elaborate. Johnny explained, “On Monday, my teacher said 3+5 equals 8.”

His father looked puzzled. “And?”

Johnny continued, “Then on Tuesday, she told us 4+4 equals 8. On Wednesday, she said 6+2 equals 8.”

Now it was his father’s turn to be astounded. “So what does that have to do with you failing?” he questioned.

Johnny sighed and clarified, “If my teacher doesn’t even know what equals eight, how am I supposed to know the right answer?”

His father was left speechless.
