Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming shares heartbreaking video of him after his dementia diagnosis

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming have shared a loving marriage for over a decade. Despite Bruce’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, Emma is steadfastly fulfilling her vow to be there in sickness and in health.

She often reminisces about their happier times when Bruce was in better health.

Since learning of Bruce’s condition, Emma has been proactive, seeking the best possible care for her husband by working closely with dementia experts.

Recently, she shared a photo on Instagram of herself with Teepa Snow, an expert who helps families cope with dementia. Emma mentioned that Snow is providing her with valuable skills to add to her “dementia care toolbox.”

Emma’s dedication to caring for Bruce is evident. This week, she came across a memory on Instagram—a feature that shows images or videos posted previously. She was reminded of a video from a year ago where she had praised Bruce. She reposted it with the caption, “What’s this new Memory thingy on IG!? Omg, my biggest fan. I’m in love with him.”

In the video, Bruce is seen passionately discussing Emma’s skincare line, Cocobaba. It’s clear that Emma cherishes those moments when Bruce was more himself.

Recently, some photos of Bruce in Los Angeles surfaced, showing him enjoying a coffee. Ever since his initial aphasia diagnosis, Bruce has kept a low profile, making such public appearances quite rare.

The Willis family has been very open about Bruce’s health journey. They previously shared an update on Instagram describing his condition. His daughter Rumer Willis expressed, “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support, and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.”

She continued, “In that spirit, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father, and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing.”

Rumer informed that Bruce’s condition had evolved to frontotemporal dementia, also known as FTD, since their first announcement of his aphasia diagnosis in spring 2022.

Despite the challenges, the family is grateful for finally having a clear diagnosis.

Reports indicate that as Bruce’s cognitive abilities declined, filmmakers who worked with him tried to simplify his roles. During the filming of “White Elephant,” crew members would feed him lines, which he sometimes didn’t understand, merely repeating what he was told. A crew member commented, “It was less of an annoyance and more like: ‘How do we not make Bruce look bad?’ He was just being puppeted.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Willis family during this challenging time. We encourage everyone to send positive thoughts their way.
