The Unlikely Love Story: Grandma and Her Young Husband’s Plans for Parenthood

Get ready for a love story that could make even the most skeptical hearts melt. Meet Cheryl McGregor, a sprightly grandmother at 61, and her much younger, adoring husband Quran McCain, at 24. Their 37-year age gap might drop some jaws, but this dynamic duo from Rome, Georgia, is proving that love knows no boundaries. And guess what? They’re planning to have kids!

This whirlwind romance began in 2012, back when Quran was just 15 and working at a Dairy Queen where Cheryl was also employed. Fast forward several years and one serendipitous sighting at a convenience store in 2020 – sparks flew, love blossomed, and the rest, as they say, is history. By September 2021, they had tied the knot and were ready for their next big adventure: starting a family.

Here’s where things get interesting. Cheryl, already a mother of seven and grandmother of 17, and Quran are eager to welcome a new addition through surrogacy. “We married in September 2021, and it didn’t take long for us to realize we wanted kids,” Quran said. They initially tried to conceive naturally but soon turned to surrogacy and adoption due to Cheryl’s age. “Surrogacy is our first choice, but we’ve seen too many legal hassles after the birth,” he added. Their ideal surrogate would sign away all parental rights immediately after birth.

And they’ve got more specifics. Quran and Cheryl hope to find a biracial baby so the child will feel a deeper connection to both parents. “We want our kid to know, ‘I have half black and half white parents,’” Quran explained. Cheryl wistfully mentioned her daughters would have been perfect surrogates if not for their hysterectomies.

The couple is aware that due to the age difference, Quran might someday have to parent their child alone. But Cheryl is confident. “I have full faith in him,” she said. “He will be a great father, with or without me.” Initially, Cheryl’s family was wary, but time has brought them around, with five of her children now on board with the couple’s decision.

Of course, their relationship has its fair share of critics. “People say all kinds of hurtful things on social media. They call me names, say I’m dating my grandmother,” Quran shared. “But at the end of the day, we have each other, and their words can’t hurt us.” Their love, they insist, is as real and strong as any “conventional” relationship.

And oh boy, they have made a splash on social media! Their TikTok videos documenting their unique love story have gone viral, and their intimate wedding ceremony was live-streamed to an audience of thousands. Not stopping there, the couple also runs an OnlyFans account for their racier content.

Despite everything, Cheryl and Quran’s love continues to thrive. “There’s something special about him even though he’s younger,” Cheryl said. “Our shared experiences have brought us closer.” Even her once-skeptical family now sees the strength of their bond. “Don’t go searching for love; it will find you,” Cheryl advises. “I wasn’t looking, and it found me. And it’s simply amazing.”
