Jimmy Kimmel’s Son Overcomes Third Heart Surgery with a Smile

Jimmy Kimmel, the popular talk show host, recently took to Instagram to share an emotional update about his 7-year-old son, Billy. Billy had just undergone his third open-heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Kimmel couldn’t be prouder of his brave little boy.

In his Instagram post, Kimmel shared a heartwarming photo of Billy with a beaming smile. He wrote, “This weekend, our boy Billy had his third (of three, we hope) open heart surgery. We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid.”

Kimmel expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff, his wife Molly, their family and friends, and the supportive community. He also thanked the strangers who took the time to pray for and send positive energy to his baby. Kimmel acknowledged his wife Molly’s incredible strength as a mother, saying, “Thank you to my wife Molly for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be.”

In a touching message to Billy, Kimmel described him as the toughest and funniest 7-year-old he knows. He asked his followers to share their love, hearts, and prayers with Billy and encouraged them to support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles or a children’s hospital in their own communities if they felt moved to do so.

Kimmel’s post received an outpouring of love and support from his friends in the entertainment industry, including Carson Daly and Andy Cohen, who left supportive comments. Billy’s journey with his heart defect began at birth, and throughout it all, Kimmel has been grateful for the exceptional care his son has received.

In April, Kimmel celebrated Billy’s seventh birthday with a special fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Kimmel and Molly are also parents to a 9-year-old daughter named Jane, and Kimmel has two older children from a previous marriage.

Let’s continue to spread love and support for Billy as he continues to inspire everyone around him with his resilience and contagious smile.
