The Man Who Wanted the Best

Once upon a time, a well-dressed man in his late 40s or early 50s arrived at a brothel. This man had a specific request – he wanted to see Penny, the most expensive lady in the house. The madam, surprised by his choice, offered him other options, but the man was determined. He insisted on seeing Penny.

Without hesitation, the man paid $1,000 for an hour with Penny. They went upstairs for their rendezvous and, after an hour, the man left. The next night, he came back demanding to see Penny once again. Penny explained that it was too expensive for anyone to come back two nights in a row, but the man didn’t care. He paid the same amount and went upstairs with Penny.

To everyone’s astonishment, the man appeared for a third consecutive night. Penny couldn’t believe it, but she took the man’s money and they went upstairs. After their encounter, Penny was curious about this man’s unusual behavior. She asked him where he was from, and he replied, “South Carolina.” Surprised, Penny revealed that she had family there.

The man then dropped a bombshell. He said, “Your father died, and I am your sister’s attorney. She asked me to give you your $3,000 inheritance.” Penny was shocked to hear this unexpected news. Little did she know that her mysterious client had a personal connection to her.

This story teaches us an important lesson. In life, there are three things that are certain: death, taxes, and the complexities that can arise when dealing with lawyers.
