Mariska Hargitay Helps Lost Child During ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Shoot

Mariska Hargitay, known for her role as Olivia Benson in Law and Order: SVU, recently played the role of a real-life hero when she helped a lost child during a shoot. The incident occurred at the Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park on April 10.

A witness shared that a young girl had become separated from her mother and, unaware of the ongoing shoot, approached Hargitay seeking assistance. Without hesitation, the actress and mother of three paused the production for approximately 20 minutes to help the child find her mother.

During the temporary break, Hargitay’s scene partner, Ice-T, and the rest of the film crew patiently waited as she focused on ensuring the little girl’s safety. Luckily, the two were reunited within half an hour.

This heartwarming act of kindness demonstrates the impact of Hargitay’s portrayal of a police officer on the show, which has been on air for an impressive 25 seasons. Her dedication to her role clearly extends beyond the fictional world, as she proved herself to be a real-life guardian for the lost child.

We commend Mariska Hargitay for her selflessness and for going above and beyond to help someone in need. Her actions truly highlight the positive influence actors can have on the world around them.
