Earthquake Hits the East Coast

On April 5th, a significant earthquake rocked the East Coast from NYC to Boston, sending shockwaves through the region. The earthquake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, originated in Lebanon, New Jersey. It happened around 10:22 a.m. and was confirmed shortly after.

Earthquake Shakes The East Coast

As news of the earthquake spread, people took to social media to share their experiences. Living on the coast in New Jersey, I personally felt the ground shake for what seemed like a solid two seconds. Thankfully, nothing fell from my shelves, but the visible shaking and the anxious barks of my dog were clear indicators that this was not a normal occurrence. I quickly reached out to my family members in the area, and they too confirmed feeling the earthquake.

Many people, still in shock, expressed disbelief, admitting that they initially thought they were “losing it.” It’s not every day that the East Coast experiences such a significant earthquake.
