The Battle with Addiction

In an interview, he revealed, “By the time I was 34, I was really entrenched in a lot of trouble. But there were years that I was sober during that time. Season 9 was the year that I was sober the whole way through. And guess which season I got nominated for best actor? That should tell me something.”
Perry’s addiction took a toll on his physical health. In 2018, he faced a life-threatening gastrointestinal perforation that left him in a coma for two weeks. Miraculously, he survived against all odds.

Despite his attempts to hide his condition, Aniston was the first to confront him about his drinking. In Perry’s own words, “She was the one that reached out the most.
