President Donald Trump’s remarks at a recent press conference have left one reporter at a loss for words, following a remark that seemed to make light of a tragic plane crash that resulted in 67 fatalities.
In the midst of addressing questions about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hiring practices related to the incident in Washington DC, Trump seemed to dismiss concerns related to an immediate visit to the crash site.

During the extraordinary press conference, Trump criticized the DEI and their approaches at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He also voiced his frustrations over an incident involving a commercial airline and a Black Hawk helicopter at the same altitude during the incorrect air collision.

The president mentioned that the helicopter was flying too high—a point that many agreed with him on, yet the tone and timing of his comment left some wishing for more empathy, given the gravity of the situation. When a reporter asked if Trump intended to visit the crash site, his response was less than sympathetic.

“What are you trying to say? The crash site is water. What do you want me to do, go swimming?” Trump retorted.
He was further questioned about possible performance issues or any disciplinary actions at the DCA air control tower, to which he flatly denied any such claims.
