Boy, 5, KILLED In Hospital After Hyperbaric Chamber EXPLODES While Receiving Oxygen Therapy

A heart-wrenching incident has come to light involving the loss of a young child in unexpected circumstances.

The little boy tragically passed away during an oxygen therapy session at the Oxford Center.

Local news outlets shared that the boy was receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy, when suddenly, the chamber providing the treatment catastrophically exploded.

This unfortunate event occurred in the Detroit suburb of Troy. The explosion was fatal for the young boy and led to a fire breaking out.

Despite the swift arrival of the Oakland County Fire Department shortly after a 911 call was placed around 9 am on a Friday morning, the boy was found deceased.

His mother, who was outside the chamber at the time of the explosion, suffered injuries in the blast as well but is anticipated to recover.

The fire that erupted in the facility was quickly extinguished. The Oxford Center has been offering treatment since 2008, but it has now been temporarily closed for an indefinite period pending a thorough investigation.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is commonly utilized for a variety of medical issues, including carbon monoxide poisoning, diabetic foot ulcers, and decompression sickness, known as ‘the bends.’ However, at this time, it remains unclear which specific condition the boy was being treated for.
