It is with great sadness that we report on a devastating accident that occurred in Manitoba, Canada, on Thursday. At least 15 lives were tragically lost when a bus, carrying a group of elderly passengers, collided with a truck at an intersection near Carberry, about 170 kilometers west of Winnipeg.
The passengers aboard the bus were on their way to a casino in Carberry when the accident happened. Rob Hill, the Deputy Police Officer and commander of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba, confirmed the fatalities, stating, “At least 15 individuals were pronounced dead as a result of the collision.”
Another ten people are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital, as they bravely fight to recover from this horrific incident. Both drivers involved in the crash survived, but it remains unclear who was at fault. The authorities are diligently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The scene at the crash site is heart-wrenching. Harrowing images reveal destroyed wheelchairs and walkers scattered amidst tarps that cover the victims’ bodies. It is a painful reminder of the lives lost and the impact this accident has had on the affected families.
