Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, shared a heartwarming conversation she had with her young daughter, Princess Lilibet, during their first trip abroad after stepping back from royal duties.
Motherhood has its challenging moments, as Meghan Markle is discovering.
During a three-day visit to Nigeria on May 10, Meghan and Prince Harry spent time at the Lightway Academy. The Duchess couldn’t help but recount a touching moment she shared with their 2-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, while talking to the children there.
As she spoke to a kindergarten class, Meghan said, โOur daughter, Lili, sheโs much tinier than you guys,โ according to People. She’ll be turning three soon. A few weeks ago, when she looked at me, all she saw was her reflection in my eyes. She then said, ‘Mama, I see myself in you.’โ
Meghan continued to explain that while Lilibet spoke quite literally, the 42-year-old mother took it to heart. โYes, I do see myself in you, and you see me in you,โ Meghan thought.
Sitting next to Harry in the classroom, Meghan shared with the children, โAs I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.โ
The couple, who are also parents to five-year-old Prince Archie, joined the children in singing, dancing, and playing games throughout their visit. Meghan mentioned, โThatโs Liliโs favorite class,โ according to the publication. โMaybe itโs all the hopping around.โ

While Meghan and Harry prefer to keep their personal life private, they occasionally offer glimpses into their life as a family of four.
In February, Prince Harry appeared on Good Morning America and shared an update, saying, โThe kids are doing great.โ He noted that, like all children, they are growing up quickly.
The 39-year-old also shared, โThey both have an amazing sense of humor and make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day like most kids do.โ He added, โIโm just really grateful to be a father.โ
