The airline industry has truly seen its fair share of challenges in recent times. Not only do flight attendants have to navigate through a maze of regulations and safety measures, but they also have to manage passengers who may be irritable or downright rude—all while keeping a pleasant demeanor. It’s no easy feat, and it’s always a delight when one of them gets a chance to express what they’re really thinking in a humorous and unforgettable way. That’s exactly what happened in this memorable encounter involving a male flight attendant and a wealthy, demanding passenger. The outcome is sure to tickle your funny bone.
In this amusing incident, a gay flight attendant expertly handled a haughty passenger who refused to stow her tray table as the plane was preparing to land. The woman’s refusal was paired with a condescending attitude, leading to a priceless retort from the flight attendant.
During my flight, it was evident that our flight attendant had an openly gay and fabulously flamboyant personality. His lively demeanor seemed to lift everyone’s spirits as he distributed food and drinks with a flourish.
As the plane began its descent, he floated down the aisle and made an announcement:
“Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he’ll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.”
On his way back up the aisle, he noticed a particularly well-dressed, exotic young woman who had not complied with the request to put her tray table up.
“Perhaps you didn’t hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your tray, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground,” he said in a playful tone.
With an air of entitlement, she turned her head and responded, “In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.”
The flight attendant, without skipping a beat, shot back:
“Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I’m called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray up, Bitch.”
