One of the most memorable days in our lives is undoubtedly our wedding day. It’s the moment when we stand beside our beloved and vow to remain together forever.
Yet, there are circumstances that can disrupt the joy of any marriage, including infidelity. Sadly, these issues can arise long before the marriage even begins.
This particular couple had been together for many years, and the wedding was anticipated to be the happiest day of the bride’s life. However, the night before the big day, she received a text message that drastically changed everything.
Casey, who was to be the bride’s maid, shared the story. The bride, whose name was withheld, was engaged to Alex, who was directly implicated. While they were celebrating, the bride’s phone pinged with a series of messages from an unknown sender.
Attached to these messages were some disturbing screen grabs, accompanied by the warning: “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”
These messages painted a very unflattering picture of Alex, suggesting he had been unfaithful in the months leading up to their wedding.
One steamy message read: “This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”
Another shocking text stated: “Your body is f**king incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”
A third message revealed: “I miss you so much. I can’t stop thinking about L, S, F’ing you. I’ve never had this kind of connection before.”
“I burst into shamed and broken tears,” Casey recounted. “My friends were furious and suggested a variety of ways to confront him. They urged me to call Alex immediately and cancel the wedding.”
She added: “But I loved Alex. I was supposed to marry him the next day. I was too devastated to be angry, so I didn’t call him.
“As dawn approached, I woke the girls and declared my decision – I would proceed with the wedding as planned, but I would expose Alex in front of everyone.”
Casey chose to get her own form of justice by reading Alex’s texts out loud during the ceremony, instead of her vows.
“Alex is not who I thought he was. I love all of you and as difficult as this is, I’m glad you’re here.
“There will not be a wedding reception today. Instead, we will celebrate honesty, finding true love, and following your heart even when it hurts.”
Witnesses saw the color drain from Alex’s face as he turned pale. His secret messages were exposed to the entire congregation, and he ultimately stormed out of the church, followed by his best man.
Casey concluded: “It was certainly not the wedding day I had envisioned, but to our credit, it turned out to be one heck of a party.”
And it’s safe to say, a celebration was indeed had that night!
