Those close to the family revealed that Mariah chose not to reach out to Alison during her last days. Instead, she spent the final week with their mother, Patricia, who was also very ill.
During this time, Mariah avoided contact with Alison, largely due to Alison’s prolonged battle with addiction. Mariah had made numerous attempts to assist her sister both emotionally and financially, but these efforts unfortunately did not result in Alison overcoming her addiction.
Eventually, Mariah felt she had no choice but to adopt a tougher stance. She didn’t want to enable her sister’s destructive behavior, so she made the painful decision to cut off contact and maintain her distance from Alison.
Tragically, Alison passed away over the weekend—the same day as their mother—without having reconciled with Mariah.

She recounted harrowing experiences, stating that Alison had once “drugged me with Valium, offered me a pinky nail full of cocaine, inflicted me with third-degree burns, and tried to sell me out to a pimp.”
