Woman charged after climbing into tiger enclosure and almost having hand bitten off

A woman is facing serious charges after a daring and dangerous escapade at the Cohanzick Zoo in New Jersey. Zyair Dennis, a 24-year-old, was filmed getting precariously close to a Bengal tiger in its enclosure.

The Unexpected Encounter

In footage taken by another zoo visitor, Dennis is seen standing dangerously close to the tiger. The massive feline even sniffed at her before making a sudden lunge, almost biting her hand. Despite the close call, Dennis appeared unfazed, calmly walking out of the enclosure.

Earlier that day, police reported Dennis was also seen getting into a bear’s enclosure, which was adjacent to the tiger’s. Fortunately, she wasn’t harmed in that cage either.

Legal Consequences

Following the incident, Dennis was charged with defiant trespassing and violating two city ordinances. In a statement released by the Bridgeton Police, they reminded the public that climbing over zoo fences is strictly prohibited and against city laws.

John Medica, Director of Recreation and Public Affairs for the City of Bridgeton, emphasized the importance of maintaining the safety of both animals and visitors.
