A devastating incident occurred in Defiance, Missouri, leaving the entire country grief-stricken. A house explosion took the lives of two young boys, Julian Keiser, 4, and Jamison Keiser, 6. This heartbreaking tragedy took place while the boys were at home due to school cancellations caused by extreme weather. Thankfully, their mother, Evelyn Turpiano, and grandparents, Jennifer and Vern Ham, managed to escape unharmed.
Neighbor Sharon Oberlag shared fond memories of the boys, describing them as “the nicest little boys” who truly loved going to school. Sadly, despite the efforts of firefighters, it was not possible to save the boys in time. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the truth.
The house belonged to the Hoffmann Family of Companies and was part of a planned development in the area to create a wine region. The company has expressed its sincerest condolences and provided support to the grieving family. In an incredible display of solidarity, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated to raise funds for funeral expenses and to support the family. The overwhelming response from the community resulted in more than $145,000 being raised.
The loss of Julian and Jamison has deeply impacted the entire community, and their absence will be felt by all who knew them. The boys will always be remembered for their infectious joy and uncontainable enthusiasm for life.
As the community mourns this devastating loss, let us come together and support one another through this trying time.
