Samantha Cope, who has recently filed for divorce from Joey Lawrence, is seeking full custody of their 19-month-old daughter, Dylan Rose. Cope, 37, submitted the divorce paperwork on August 13, citing irreconcilable differences. She mentioned June 7, 2024, as their official date of separation.
In her filing, Cope has asked for sole physical custody of Dylan, allowing Lawrence visitation at her discretion. She has also specified that Lawrence could have Dylan for two nights when she turns three, provided he is available and not working.
Furthermore, the filing outlines that Lawrence should not take Dylan for long extended periods until she can specifically request visitation time. Both parties must agree and facilitate any such arrangements. The document also insists that Lawrence must be fully available for the entire duration when Dylan visits and that she should not be around non-family members unless agreed upon by Cope.
Cope has also requested the court not to grant spousal support for either side.
The couple celebrated the birth of their daughter, Dylan Rose, on January 16, 2023. Lawrence, 48, also has two daughters from his previous marriage to Chandie Yawn-Nelson – Charleston, who is 18, and Liberty, who is 14.
Speculations about their separation began when Lawrence was seen without his wedding ring during a family vacation in Jamaica. Notably, Cope was absent from the trip, which included Lawrence’s brothers Matthew and Andrew, their mother Donna, Andrew’s girlfriend Brittany McGowan, and Lawrence’s older daughters.
