Fox News Host Roasted For His ‘Six Figures’ Wage Math

If you’re someone who works for a living, you’re probably familiar with conversations about the cost of living. It’s a hot topic that often sparks debates both on social media and in the news.

Recently, Jesse Watters, a host on Fox News, made a remark about the cost of living that has prompted quite a bit of buzz on the Internet. The comments occurred during his appearance on the PBD podcast, where he was promoting his new book.

While discussing the wages of fast food industry workers, Watters posed the question: “If you’re making $20 an hour to work in a fast-food restaurant, is that six figures?” This caused quite a stir among listeners, questioning his math skills.

For those wondering, $20 an hour is far from a six-figure salary. The podcast host, Patrick Betz-David, promptly corrected him, saying: “No, no, $40,000 a year.”

Watters responded: “So, if your husband or wife is also there, you’re making $100,000 as a family. Both working at McDonald’s.”

He went on to say: “OK, that’s crazy. That is crazy. Because that job really doesn’t require much. So, it’s inflating the entire, you know, labor sector and the Happy Meal.”

The video clip of this discussion quickly went viral after being posted on Twitter.
