Emotional anguish and suffering can be more harmful than physical pain. Instead of allowing these negative experiences to defeat them, they used them as lessons to become stronger and more resilient individuals capable of facing life’s obstacles head on.
Story 1
Months after my wedding, I started finding nice meal receipts in my jacket pockets. My husband discovered one, accused me of infidelity, and threatened to divorce me. I cried and swore I had no idea where the receipts were coming from. One day, while cleaning out the car, I came across a hidden stockpile of identical receipts stashed beneath the passenger seat. It occurred to me that he had been planting them all along. I recognized he was trying to gather evidence of my infidelity in order to avoid our prenuptial agreement and maintain all of his assets.

I had a date with a coworker. I felt we had strong chemistry and got along well. She couldn’t find her phone, so I called it, and someone in the restaurant answered. I walked back in to retrieve it for her, and the waiter informed me that I had been saved in her contacts under “Free Food.” © Sol-Blackguy/Reddit
Story 3
My crush came over to my place to work on a high school project involving the internet. While she sat next to me, she attempted to access Google on my computer. Unfortunately, the address bar autofilled and directed her to my previous Google search—page two of results for her name. Each link had been clicked. We just sat in silence. © rlover77887 | Reddit
Story 4
On the last day of middle school, a student and I agreed to wear tuxedos. I was too young and naïve to recognize he wasn’t serious, so I persuaded my mother to bear the cost of renting a tuxedo, which I paid off over the next several weeks. That year, I also received an academic award, which required me to wear a tuxedo and stand in front of the entire school in the gym to accept the award. © Unknown author/Reddit
Story 5
I found out my boyfriend had married another lady while still with me. We broke up about 11 hours ago. I learned this after receiving a text message and then using Facebook to locate her. And, lo and behold, there they were: my lovely boyfriend and his beautiful bride, happily married. We were together for three and a half years. He apparently met me after their original breakup. Then, 1.5 years into our relationship, he reconnected with her and restarted their romance without telling me. © heteroerotic/Reddit
