Police Amused by Child’s Clever ‘Ice Cold Beer’ Sign

Some people simply have a business instinct from birth. Combine that with tenacity, a bit of risk-taking, and a desire to test one’s skills, and you have a winning combination.

Seth, an 11-year-old from Utah, appears to be one of those individuals with a natural business instinct. His latest marketing tactic has left many people both amused and impressed.

Rather than selling lemonade like many kids do, Seth opted for something different. He set up closer to the sidewalk holding a sign that read, “Ice Cold Beer.”

Some of Seth’s neighbors were a bit concerned, thinking a young boy was selling alcohol, so they called the police. While some saw it as sweet and admired his entrepreneurial spirit, others were worried.

When officers arrived at Seth’s booth, instead of reprimanding him, they joined in on the fun.

It turned out Seth was actually selling root beer, with the word “root” written in tiny green letters, making it an ingenious marketing ploy.

The Brigham City Police Department recognized Seth’s sign as an excellent marketing strategy. Not every child could pull off something like that!

When the story hit the internet, it sparked a lot of reactions.

Some people thought that those who called the police should be ashamed, but the police department disagreed. They stated, “Our citizens should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to call us. They were calling in what they felt was a suspicious circumstance. No harm, no foul.”

The officers even bought some root beer from Seth for $1 and shared his adorable story to help advertise his business.
