This illusion dates back to a postcard produced in Germany in 1888 by an organization called “The Anchor Buggy Company.” This postcard, created by British cartoonist W.E. Hill, quickly gained attention for its hidden images. At first, people had no idea what they were looking for, but soon, whispers began to spread about something strange in the picture.
The image, aptly titled “Young-Girl Old-Woman,” portrays a younger girl looking away and an older woman looking down. W.E. Hill, the mastermind behind this illusion, never expected the public to notice. However, as rumors spread, the image gained popularity, and Hill became a cartoonist with thousands of fans.
