The Short-lived Marriage
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist exchanged vows in a Palm Springs ceremony on January 4, which was broadcasted live on ABC. However, the marriage didn’t last long, raising questions about whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement and what would happen to Theresa’s engagement ring.
During the interview, Theresa sadly admitted that she would have to give her Neil Lane diamond ring back. While reflecting on this, Gerry added that they didn’t have to give back the memories they had shared. It was later confirmed by ABC anchor Juju Chang that the couple had indeed signed a prenuptial agreement, prompting her to advise others to consider taking the same step.
The Symbolic Engagement Ring
Their engagement in November 2023 had garnered attention, particularly due to Gerry’s grand gesture with a custom-made princess cut ring. The ring held significant symbolism for the couple and was adorned with two baguette cut diamonds and 128 small round stones totaling 3.15 carats.
In an interview with People in December, Gerry spoke about the ring, expressing the importance of its symbolism. Renowned jewelry designer Neil Lane also provided insight into the creation of the ring, emphasizing the profoundness it held for the couple.
The Decision to Separate
In their emotional Good Morning America interview on April 12, Gerry revealed that he and Theresa had numerous heartfelt conversations about their relationship and living arrangements before ultimately deciding to end their marriage. Despite the separation, Gerry insisted that he still had love for Theresa and wished her happiness.
The couple held hands during the interview and acknowledged that they are both still looking for love, just not with each other.
