Off The Record
Finding the right partner can be a challenging journey. It often involves navigating the complexities of relationships with family members and other external factors, in addition to finding compatibility with an individual.
Meet Thomas, a thirty-year-old who was still unmarried. During a conversation with a friend one day, his friend questioned him, “Why aren’t you married? Can’t you find a woman who would make a good wife?”
Thomas promptly replied, “Every time I bring a woman home to meet my parents, my mother doesn’t approve, even though I have actually found many women I wanted to marry.”
After considering the situation, the friend had a brilliant idea. “I have the perfect solution. Find a girl who is just like your mother,” he suggested.
A few months later, Thomas and his friend crossed paths again. Curious, the friend asked Thomas, “Did you find the ideal girl? And did your mother like her?”
With a wry smile on his face, Thomas responded, “Yes, I found the perfect girl. She looks exactly like my mother. You were right; my mother highly approves of her.”
Intrigued, the friend asked, “So what’s the problem then?”
Thomas sighed and said, “Well, my father doesn’t like her!”
