Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, testified on Tuesday in Donald Trump’s hush money trial. In her testimony, she shared details about her career as an exotic dancer and her encounter with Trump in July 2006.
During the trial, Daniels confirmed a detail regarding Trump’s relationship with his wife, Melania. She testified that Trump’s bodyguard, Keith Schiller, asked her if she wanted to join Trump for dinner. Despite initially refusing, Daniels agreed after her publicist insisted. She found herself on the penthouse floor, where she noticed Trump’s room with a partially open door.
According to Daniels, Trump was wearing satin pajamas, and she asked him to change. They had a conversation where Trump asked her “very thought-out business questions” about her work. He inquired about unions, residuals, payment methods, health insurance, and STD concerns.
While talking about Daniels’ personal life, Trump briefly mentioned his wife Melania, who had recently given birth to their son Barron. Daniels recalled complimenting Melania’s beauty and asking Trump about their sleeping arrangements. Trump responded by saying, “We don’t sleep in the same room.”
This revelation aligns with a Washington Post feature from 2018, where a source disclosed that Donald and Melania Trump did not share a bedroom. According to first lady scholar Annette Dunlap, separate bedrooms for couples were not uncommon in the past. It was viewed as a symbol of wealth and privacy.
