Linda was feeling particularly distressed as she boarded the plane to visit her parents’ graves. These visits brought her comfort, but also served as a painful reminder that the two people she loved the most were no longer in her life.
As the flight took off, Linda couldn’t hold back her tears. The other passengers noticed her distress, but no one approached her to offer comfort. However, something unexpected happened when Linda heard the pilot’s voice over the intercom. It was a voice she recognized all too well.
Tears streaming down her face, Linda couldn’t contain her emotions any longer. The people seated around her grew concerned and a flight attendant came over to check on her. But Linda refused any help. All she could say was, “I can’t wait to meet him.”
Confused, the flight attendant asked her again, “What do you mean, ma’am?”
“Please, just leave me alone,” Linda fumed. “I need to see the pilot. It’s important.”
Throughout the entire flight, Linda continued to cry, capturing the attention of her fellow passengers. When the plane finally landed and everyone was eager to disembark, Linda refused to move. She insisted on seeing the pilot.
The flight attendant approached her once more, gently reminding her that she needed to leave the plane. But Linda was resolute, exclaiming, “I must see the pilot! I won’t move until I do!”
Realizing the urgency of Linda’s request, the flight attendant promised to relay the message to the pilot. She asked Linda to wait a little longer.
When the pilot learned about Linda’s desperate plea, he agreed to meet her. However, as soon as he laid eyes on her, his smile faded.
“It’s you…” he muttered, trying to leave the plane.
Desperate, Linda pleaded with him, “Please, Alex, don’t leave. They would be proud of you. Just like I was the moment I heard your voice when the flight took off. I’m so sorry, please forgive me.”
Alex, the pilot, was taken aback. He couldn’t believe that Linda recognized his voice after all these years.
“I would recognize your voice in a crowd of millions. I love you so much, Alex,” Linda confessed.
Alex, deeply moved by her words, finally spoke, “I’ve been waiting to hear this from you for years. All you had to do was say sorry. Why did it take you so long?”
As it turns out, Linda and Alex were brother and sister. But their relationship had soured after their parents’ tragic accident. Alex had always dreamed of becoming a pilot, but their father never supported his aspirations. The inheritance left behind by their parents could only be accessed when Alex turned 18, and he begged Linda to allow him to pursue his dream. However, she refused, wanting to honor their father’s wishes.
Devastated, Alex cut all ties with Linda and hadn’t seen her in years.
In a bittersweet attempt to reconcile, Linda had pleaded with Alex to go with her to visit their parents’ graves. She believed that their parents would be watching from heaven and would be proud of him.
But Alex remained unmoved. He left the plane without looking back, leaving Linda feeling heartbroken. Determined, she took a taxi to the cemetery to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their parents’ deaths.
To her surprise and joy, as she arrived at the graves, she saw Alex standing beside them. Overwhelmed with emotion, Linda approached him.
“I forgive you, Linda. Let’s not dwell on the past anymore. I’m over it, and I want you to be too,” Alex said, embracing his sister warmly.
As they placed wreaths on their parents’ graves, they stood in silence, remembering their shared sorrow and finding comfort in their long-awaited reunion.
