The SAG Awards are known for their glitz and glamour, but this year, two stars decided to add a little extra fun to the proceedings. Rhea Perlman, known for her role in Barbie, and Lisa Ann Walter, from the hit show Abbott Elementary, kicked off the awards ceremony with a clandestine drink.
As the show began, Idris Elba, who started off the evening’s festivities, reminded the audience that there would be no commercial breaks due to the live streaming on Netflix. This meant that attendees had to carefully choose the right time to visit the bar. “For those of you who were smart to bring a flask, remember: sharing is caring,” he quipped.
The camera then cut to Perlman and Walter, who were caught in a hilarious moment. Perlman took a swig from her silver flask and then offered it to Walter. Walter gladly took a sip herself, creating a fun and light-hearted moment at the awards show.
Both Perlman and Walter were nominated for SAG Awards this year. Perlman was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her role in Barbie. Walter, on the other hand, was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Abbott Elementary. It’s clear that these talented actresses know how to have a good time while still delivering exceptional performances.
