While Reba is renowned for her musical talent on stage, Shelby has carved his own path on the racetrack as a professional race car driver at the age of 34. In fact, he even earned the prestigious title of 2020 GTWCA Overall Champion, as stated on his Instagram bio.
While both Reba and Shelby maintain a presence on social media, it’s quite rare to come across a photo of them together. However, fans were recently delighted when Reba posted a heartwarming photo in celebration of Shelby’s birthday. In the post, she fondly looks back on the day he was born, remarking how much better she feels now compared to 34 years ago.
Since the moment she discovered her pregnancy, Reba has considered Shelby to be one of the greatest blessings in her life. Expressing her gratitude to God for the gift of motherhood, she wrote, “From the first second I found out I was pregnant, up to today, this child is one of the biggest blessings of my life.”
Growing up with a superstar mom like Reba surely presented its challenges, but she always made sure to prioritize spending time with Shelby. Even when she was on the road, he would often accompany her. And when that wasn’t possible, she would make every effort to squeeze in quality time together.
“I would fly home after a concert, get him up in the morning, take him to school, and pick him up,” Reba reminisces. “We’d play until I had to fly out again for a concert that night. I wanted to be with Shelby. I still do.”
Today, Shelby has a family of his own, with a wife and two children. They reside in Nashville, close to Reba and his dad, Narvel Blackstock. While they may not frequently share glimpses of their lives on social media, their bond is unbreakable in their day-to-day existence.
