Simpson first revealed his cancer diagnosis on X (formerly Twitter) in May 2023, mentioning that he had undergone chemotherapy treatment. He also shared that he was simultaneously battling both Covid and cancer. Recent reports from February 2024 indicated that Simpson was undergoing chemotherapy, although it remains unclear if it was related to his previous battle with cancer.

Sources suggest that Simpson was receiving treatment for prostate cancer in Las Vegas. Despite not directly addressing the recent cancer reports, Simpson reassured his followers on X that he was not in hospice care. In fact, just before the Super Bowl, he mentioned that he was hosting friends in Las Vegas and that “all is well.”

At the time of his death, Simpson was surrounded by his children and grandchildren, according to a statement from the family.
