As parents, we would do anything for our children. We want to protect them from any harm and ensure they never feel scared, sad, or alone. When Ben Sowards, a loving father from Utah, received a call from his 6-year-old daughter Valeria’s school, he knew he had to rush to her side right away.
Valeria had suffered a minor accident – nothing dangerous, but she was bound to feel embarrassed after wetting her pants. Ben, wanting to make the situation a little less distressing for his daughter, came up with a clever plan. Before heading to pick her up, he poured water on his own pants. As per the Huffington Post, Ben wanted to make Valeria laugh instead of feeling mortified.
When Ben arrived at the school, he asked Valeria if he could borrow her school bag, explaining that he needed to “hide” something. Confused, Valeria soon spotted the huge wet stain on her dad’s crotch. But instead of feeling embarrassed, she realized that her dad was making a joke out of the situation.
Ben later shared, “I knew she was mortified, but I thought if I could make her laugh everything would be fine. Once she saw my pants, I got that look from her where I knew everything was OK. All dads know what look I’m talking about. And we just strolled out of the school like nothing was happening.”
What a fantastic dad Ben is! He went above and beyond just picking up his daughter from school. He used his creativity and love to ease Valeria’s embarrassment and make her laugh. This heartwarming story showcases the incredible lengths some dads will go to show their unconditional love.
