The Mischievous Rooster

Once upon a time, a man was driving past a farm when he accidentally ran over a rooster. Feeling guilty, he decided to take responsibility and went to the farmhouse to apologize and offer to replace the rooster.

When the farmer answered the door, the man explained the situation, saying, “I’m sorry for running over your rooster. It was in the road, and I’d be happy to pay for a new one.”

The farmer looked puzzled for a moment but then replied, “Well, if you’re really interested in mating with the hens, you’re welcome to go around back. But I’d prefer if you just paid for a new rooster.”

It seems the farmer had misunderstood the man’s intention, giving everyone a good chuckle.

A Farmer’s Quest for Chicks

There was another farmer who had 200 hens but no rooster. He wanted to have some chicks, so he went to a neighboring farmer to see if he had a rooster for sale.

The other farmer happily replied, “Yes, I have a great rooster named Randy. He’ll service all your hens without any problems.”

Although Randy was quite expensive, the farmer believed he would be worth the investment. So, he bought Randy and brought him home to the barnyard.

Before setting Randy loose, the farmer gave him a pep talk. “Randy, I need you to pace yourself. You have a lot of hens to take care of, and you cost me a fortune. So, take your time, have some fun, but do a good job,” the farmer said with a chuckle.

Randy seemed to understand and wasted no time. He quickly made his way into the henhouse and impressively satisfied every hen in there, not just once, but three or four times! The farmer was taken aback by Randy’s enthusiasm.

Later on, the farmer heard a commotion in the duck pen. He rushed over to find Randy in action once again. Randy didn’t stop there; he even chased a flock of geese down by the lake and managed to catch every single one of them.

By sunset, Randy was out in the fields, playfully chasing quail and pheasants. The farmer became worried that his expensive rooster would exhaust himself before the day was done.

As expected, the farmer went to bed and woke up the next morning to a heartbreaking sight. Randy lay lifeless in the middle of the yard, with buzzards circling overhead. The farmer was devastated by the loss of such a vibrant and costly animal.

Shaking his head, the farmer sighed, “Oh, Randy, I warned you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, and now look what has happened.”

Surprisingly, Randy opened one eye, glanced at the circling buzzards, and mischievously whispered, “Shhh. They’re getting closer.”

What a playful joker he was!
